Current methods of cancer detection––including imaging, serum markers, and biopsy––have significant limitations. The early and accurate detection of circulating tumor cells (CTC) has significant impact in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients around the world. The revolutionary rare cell enrichment technology platform developed by AVIVA offers clinicians, drug developers and researchers the ability to reliably detect target circulating tumor cells from blood samples––even when such cells are present in a very limited amount.

The AVIVA approach, which utilizes a proprietary “depletion” approach, efficiently removes the non-relevant cells. What remains are only the target cells, which can readily be analyzed and quantified. While other technologies lose many of the sought-after cells, the AVIVA platform captures nearly 100% of the target cells from patient samples, with very low interference from debris or other cells demonstrating a major improvement on existing technologies.
